The shoes are wide, size D, and orthotics can be added easily once the stock insert is removed. I have high arches, and this model is the best I have found to avoid injury when training at moderate mileage on hard surface city streets and rural roads. The stability of the shoe has one cost. There is a high cushioned leather piece extending up from the heel cup that can put pressure on the Achilles tendon. I bend this back repeatedly each time I lace up and it becomes flexible after a few runs. Another criticism is the thin hard rubber outer sole that wears easily, on the outer edges of the heel. They last longer than any other brand (Nike, Reebok, Fila, etc) are extremely comfortable and affordable. I was looking for a running shoe that also can be used with jeans and this is it. As a woman, I tend to dislike the women's sneakers because the colors are "too girly" for me. I was so happy to see that these were available in size 6 men's. While I have been unlucky in my store searches, I jumped at the chance to buy these because it's taken a couple of years since my last pair, to find suitable colors & sizes. Aside from the size and color I've mentioned so often, these shoes are so comfortable and stylish I've made them my sneaker of choice. You won't be sorry you got these. |
